    Award Winning Mixed-Use Project Features 138 Units over 13,000 SF of Retail


    The Korda Group is pleased to announce the opening of The Mansfield at Miracle Mile. Located at 5100 Wilshire Blvd, a block away from the future Purple Line Station at Wilshire and La Brea, the mixed-use project consists of 138 apartment homes above 13,000 SF of retail space. Units range in size from 530 square feet to 2,498 square feet and include studios, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom, 3 bedroom, and spacious loft units. Penthouse loft units offer views of the Hollywood Sign, the Downtown LA Skyline, and the Hollywood Hills. The Mansfield’s grand opening will be held at the building on April 7th between 2-5 PM.  Press and interested parties are invited to attend and tour the building.

    A family company with deep roots in Southern California, the Korda Group set out to design a building that reflects the history of the Miracle Mile. The Art-Deco exterior of The Mansfield evokes the Four-Star Theater it replaced, complete with matinee inspired awnings, a mural of the Theater in the central breezeway, and a central marquee that extends the full eight story height of the building fronting Wilshire Blvd.  For their efforts, The Mansfield was recognized by the Sycamore Square Neighborhood Association with the Association’s first ever “Sycamore Square Exceptional Architecture Award.”

    According to SSNA President, Conrad Star the “award shows the neighborhoods appreciation for new architecture that is compatible with our neighborhood, which has a high concentration of 1920s and 1930s houses, duplexes, and apartments. The Mansfield is proof that when developers and community come together around a project, the result can be quite stunning.”

    While the exterior of the Mansfield has an art deco design, the individual apartment homes are modern and luxuriously appointed. The second-floor features industrial, loft style units with smoothly sanded concrete walls, exposed ducting, bathrooms and walk in closets off the loft level, and 18-foot high ceilings.  Penthouse units on the top floor of the building feature two story lofts, some with panoramic views.  Select units have a second wrap around balcony off the loft level.

    Unit interiors feature stainless steel appliances, Italian kitchen cabinetry, tile backsplashes, washer/dryers, hardwood look plank flooring, and spacious bedrooms and living areas. Bathrooms finishes include LED backlit mirrors, tiled shower walls and bathroom floors, tubs, and hardwood look plank flooring.  Many units have walk in closets with custom cabinetry.  Additional finishes include Mecho shades, Arcadia Aluminum soundproof windows, keyless entry, nest thermostats in select units, spiral staircases in select loft units, ceiling fans, and custom light fixtures.  Most units have large covered balconies.

    The Mansfield’s amenities are state of the art, including a clubhouse, pool and spa, gym, dry saunas, and three roof decks. The clubhouse includes a full kitchen, pool table, and an 80’’ television for resident functions.  Two La Cantina Bifold Doors opens directly to the main pool deck, which includes the pool, spa, a hammock, a firepit surrounded by Ipe benches, 2 BBQ’s under a grand steel trellis wrapped in Ipe wood, four cabanas, lounge chairs, and 3 dining tables. The gym is furnished with TechnoGym Equipment and overlooks the clubhouse and pool deck. The clubhouse bathrooms are each fitted with a dry sauna.  The third floor “party deck” has 2 BBQ’s, a firepit, outdoor couches, dining tables, and a movie projector for community movie nights under the stars.  The fifth floor “sun deck” features a hammock, lounge chairs, and dining table.  Finally, the sixth floor “sky deck” provides an additional BBQ, two firepits surrounded by couches and lounge chairs, hammock chairs, complete with a speculator view south all the way to LAX.  Amenities spaces and building entrance can only be accessed with a fob key card, giving Residents greater safety and security.

    The leasing office is on the ground floor off Wilshire, through the Project’s Breezeway. Resident parking is located on two floors beneath the ground level off Mansfield Avenue.  Fifteen Resident spots have been designated for electric vehicles, with charging stations provided by EverCharge Chargers.  The Mansfield has ample visitor parking for guests of the community residents, as well as surplus parking available for lease.  Fully enclosed storage lockers are also available for lease to community residents.

    The Mansfield’s commercial space is located on the ground floor of the project, fronting Wilshire Boulevard. The retail parking entrance is on Orange Drive and is equipped with a fully automated parking system. The Automobile Club of America, pre-leased 6,756 square feet of space before construction started and is now open for business. “We have had a lot of interest in the reminder of the commercial space, especially with the Purple Line opening soon, but are waiting for the right tenant that will fit the location,” said Aaron Korda, Director of Development at the Korda Group.

    The Mansfield is equipped with an Amazon Kiosk available to the general public located off Wilshire in the building breezeway. Four Dual ChargePoint EV chargers are accessible in the publicly accessible retail parking.

    The project was designed by Shahab Ghodes of Plus Architects and the General Contractor was TB Pennick & Sons.

    Leasing has progressed at a brisk pace, with applications and tours exceeding the Development Team’s expectations. “Demand for these unique units is incredibly strong,” said Aaron. “The location is excellent being just a few blocks from the grove, LACMA, and Hollywood. Building the Mansfield was the most challenging project I have ever worked on, but I couldn’t be prouder of the results. We are grateful for all the team members that helped make this project a success.”

    The Korda Group was founded in Los Angeles in the 1950’s by Joseph Korda, a Holocaust survivor and structural engineer. The Company has developed close to a thousand units, and currently owns and manages approximately 3000 units in California and Oregon, as well as 350,000 SF of commercial space in Southern California.   The company expects to break ground on its next development, a 151 unit project in Echo Park just southwest of Dodger Stadium, in the fall of 2019.
